KANSAS CITY, Mo. - After a successful weekend of robotics completion, a group of future engineers is back in Kansas City. They came back winners. The students traveled to Anaheim, Calif., to compete in the National Society of Black Engineers Robotics Competition. Team Wisdom is picture above. They won Best Robot Performance. The tam included Joel Asberry, Hogan Preparatory Academy; Tony Grant, Lincoln Preparatory Academy; Cameran Crawford, Benjamin Banneker; Myasa Davis, Benjamin Banneker; Seamus Prim, Academy Lafayette; (holding the trophy) Brandon Strickland, Banneker; Sydney Salazar, Pioneer Ridge Middle School; and Alonzo Carter, Benjamin Banneker Team Imagineers 1050 earned a spot at the Junior First Lego Leaguein St. Louis. The team included Layla Woodson, 6, Benjamin Banneker Charter Academy; LeeShaud Wood, 7, Benjamin Banneker Charter Academy; Paul Babalola, 8, Benjamin Banneker Charter Academy; Taylor Brown, 8, Benjamin Banneker Charter Academy; DeMichael Johnson, 9, Benjamin Banneker Charter Academy; and Zackary Carter, 9, St. Patrick's.
